Snowflake Study

Have you ever wondered about the saying "No two snowflakes are alike"? In an office discussion on how important your brand is to be distinctive, we wondered if someone actually studied the "Snowflake Brand" and what made it unique. We found out that we were a little late as Wilson A. Bentley did just that in the early 1800s. Bentley took pictures of snowflakes by first using a blackboard to catch the flakes and then once he had them captured, photographed them to study their infinite and extraordinary beauty. The uniqueness of each flake proved to confirm his theories on their individuality and his findings are the root of the expression that "No two snowflakes are alike".

Bentley's photographs of his study on snowflakes have been preserved by the Smithsonian. Click here to check them out!
